Buoy Film
BUOY is a meditation on navigational forms, expressed through three essential geometries. Dynamic pairings of cones, domes, and slabs form the basis for a serial exploration of the interplay of light and material across a range of scales and typologies. Hand-blown glass shades, in contrasting white enamel and sandblasted finishes, are set apart and bound together by a custom metal collar. Recalling references of Alvar Aalto and Peter Behrens, each fixture is tied to the historic typology of objects afloat both on the wall and in the water. Taken as a whole, the BUOY Collection presents a modernist’s reflection on glass as an essential vessel for light.
