Ides Bar is a vital component of Workstead’s overall interior design scheme for the Wythe Hotel. Located on the hotel’s top floor, the destination was conceived as a jewel box in the sky, with paneling that reflects daylight and brass-punctuated Carrara floors glimmering in sunsets’ angled rays. The cerulean color scheme and brasserie furnishings provide a subdued counterpoint to the light and views framed by tremendous windows, while our deep, bowed bar structure anchors the composition with casual gravitas. For the adjacent I-shaped terrace, we specified seating, surfaces, and planters that are all movable, so hotel guests and local patrons could adapt the outdoor space for any kind of social interaction.
