Workstead
Garden & Gun Club
The Garden & Gun Club, a new social establishment in Atlanta, embodies its namesake magazine. Designed in collaboration with Garden & Gun, Workstead adapted the brand’s aesthetic to a 1,700-square-foot space that encompasses a club barroom and an oyster bar, as well as a 75-seat dining room finished in monumentally scaled fabric panels. The project also captures its worldview. Just as Garden & Gun magazine’s stories meld respect for Southern traditions with curiosity about the future, so the club’s sparingly detailed millwork and plaid-like flooring feel both familiar and unexpected. This combination of traits is perhaps most evident in Workstead’s sprawling Lodge chandelier that crowns the dining room: composed of oak and brass, this dynamic, customized version of the light evokes an assemblage of antlers.
